“Vegan Yarn—for the knitter with a conscience and like the name suggests, it is a specialty yarn made from a variety of natural plant fibres such as: bamboo, soy and cotton. Heidi, the owner and founder of Vegan Yarn, hand-dyes the yarn with love in small batches, often creating limited yarn collections. Her colour dyeing technique is unique in that her inspiration for colours often derives from Japanese anime films. Vegan yard needed a way to present the product so that customers could pick up the yarn and really feel it without having unnecessary labels around to cover it. The design also needed to suggest natural and earth-friendly. Hang tags were created to easily appreciate the yarn without any obstructions. Items were printed on recycled paper. Vegan Yarn—yarn for everyone, not just vegans.”

“After designing a promotional poster/flyer for Modern Karibou, they came back and asked me to design new business cards for their trip to Milan, Italy. After having discussed printing options with them, we decided to go with letterpress as the business cards needed to generate a good first impression at design shows. Their wordmark was also simplified and a more modern type treatment was presented. Cards printed on 4 ply 100% cotton rag, and hand painted edges.”

“Modern Karibou is a Canadian online design and lifestyle shop. Modern Karibou highlights the creations of established and emerging designers and artists from around the world, and champions and celebrates home-grown, innovative talent. In an effort to promote their online products at design shows and home decor shows around Canada, Modern Karibou came to us to develop a promotional poster/flyer—to briefly showcase the variety of products which could be found on their online shop. We created something bold and typographically driven in order to capture the attention of their costumer base, which primarily consists of designers and design-savvy professionals in various fields and disciplines.”

“An interest in local history led me to create this piece. Researching Vancouver’s secret underside at the turn of the century was a great learning process. It appears in the March 2011 issue of Vancouver Review Magazine.”

“When R&B Brewing decided to move their most popular beer from big single bottles into 6 packs, it gave the opportunity to rethink the packaging. Drawing on the independent, DIY spirit of the brewery and the surrounding East Van community, everything on the packaging was hand done, right down to the barcode. — Designed at St Bernadine Mission Communications”

“Every week, I try to do at least one illustration that I post to my instagram and twitter accounts. This is my chance to get silly, have fun and draw some of my favourite things.”
