“We value the experimentation, the reformation of the message, and the smart incentives.

We believe in the atypical, and in the principle that says that form follows function.

We celebrate clear messages and intelligent contents.

We are an Independent Design Studio.” — Manifiesto Futura

BRUTO

image

“Wallpaper* magazine invited us to collaborate in a project that would be exposed during design week in Milan. The task was to create 5 food items that were focused around one particular ingredient, also the branding and packaging.

We worked with Alfredo Villanueva, choosing "chili” as our main ingredient, so we could stand out our culture bringing the name of “Mexico” to an international exhibition not only by design but also by it’s gastronomy.

In a world where everything screams, everything is flashy, BRUTO remains an outsider, confirming that what is well made can get along with simplicity. What is startling is not necessarily noisy.“

MUTUO

image

"Mutuo, two architects proposing solutions that represent an ode to the experimentation. Taking advantage of their different roots, they create new experiences through chaos.

This project allowed us to came out with a particular solution: An identity with no logo, that relies in other resources to accomplish the characteristics of recognition and constancy that branding requires.”

Banner Year

image

“Pieces created for my ‘Banner Year’ solo show at Why Lou Two in Louisville, Kentucky. The collection featured 8 handcrafted banners.

I designed 8 simple quotes that served as part motivation, part fun. The canvas was prepared and handed over to sign painter extraordinaire Kirby Stafford, to paint the designs. Couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.”

Two Arms Inc. is a ( soon to be husband and wife team ) founded by Mike Tabie and Karen Goheen in 2009. We met 6 years ago in Orlando, FL while working with a local design agency and screen-printing together on nights and weekends. We independently moved to New York but continued to work separately within large and small design agencies. After a year we decided to take the plunge and partner together and start a business with our own vision in mind. There is nothing more satisfying then working with someone you love and trust. We love collaborating and getting our hands dirty. We are specialists of the handmade. We believe in craftsmanship, an attention to detail, and that sweet spot between concept and execution. We started this business because we care about what we do, and we want to work with clients who are passionate about their vision.” — Two Arms Inc.

HERB LESTER | LUGGAGE TAG SET

image

“When we aren’t working, we are traveling! Well …traveling to the bodega, traveling to find the best NY Slice, or traveling to the nearest bar… Even if we don’t venture far from our humble Brooklyn neighborhood, we don’t leave without a custom set of four double-sided tags: Air, Rail, Land, Sea. This product was a fun collaboration with our favorite team across the pond, Herb Lester Associates. These tag’s are printed on almost indestructible Tyvek®, a 1950s miracle product that looks like paper but resists tears and water.”

BELL & OAK | FINE LEATHER GOODS PACKAGING

“At the corner of Bell and Oak street in Denton Texas is Weldon’s Saddle shop, where Clint Wilkson’s grandfather has hand crafted leather since 1957. Bell & Oak leather goods is dedicated to his grandfather’s craft of building saddles. All of the products are made using the same processes and tools that have been in his family for decades. We absolutely loved Clint’s work, and were thrilled to work with him to create his packaging. The Bell and Oak logo was created by one of our favorite designers Curtis Jinkins of Neighborhood Studios.”
